Graduate

Environmental Engineering

Four Ph.D. student positions with a strong focus on environmental engineering are available in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta to work under the guidance of Dr. Mohamed Gamal El-Din on multidisciplinary research projects related to fundamental understanding of physico-chemical and biological water treatment processes.

Environmental Engineering

The Hanigan Lab at the University of Nevada is looking to immediatley fill 1 to 2 fully funded research associate PhD positions. The student will conduct research related to wastewater reuse for agriculture (3 year USDA funded project) and anthropogenic chemicals in the environment. More information can be found at http://www.dhanigan.com. A background in environmental engineering or environmental chemistry is preferred.

Environmental Engineering - Electro-kinetics, Electrocoagulation, and Capacitive-deionization

Hiring Graduate Research Assistant

The Environmental and Water Analysis Group at Louisiana Tech University supervised by Dr. Sanjay Tewari is looking to hire a Graduate Research Assistant who is interested in pursuing Ph.D. in overlapping areas of electro-kinetics, electrocoagulation, and capacitive-deionization. The position is expected to start in September, 2017. The last date to apply for the admission in Fall was June 1. However, Dr. Tewari will work with applicants and make sure that applications are processed in time.

Membrane Processes and Water Reuse

We are seeking few talented and motivated Ph.D. students to join the Chemical and Environmental engineering Department at the University of Arizona and work under the guidance of Dr. Andrea Achilli. The main study systems include: reinventing the wastewater treatment facility, opportunities from the collocation of wastewater and desalination facilities, and energy recovery from salinity and concentration gradients.

Ph.D. Assistantship in Environmental Engineering

1~2 PhD research/teaching assistant positions are available in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH: http://www.uah.edu/)starting Fall 2017/Spring 2018.  The successful applicant is expected to conduct research in the area of sustainable water and wastewater treatment and/or non-point source pollution control. A BS in environmental engineering or a related field is required and applicants with a MS degree in pertinent fields are preferred.

Environmental Chemical and Transport Processes

Two graduate research assistant positions (Ph.D. and M.S. are both considered) are immediately available at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Louisiana State University, starting Fall 2017 (may defer to Spring 2018 for exceptional applicants). Those openings will focus on environmental systems where mass transfer and environmental chemical processes are highly coupled, such as saltwater intrusion, riverine chemical spills, groundwater-surface water interactions, water/wastewater piping systems. The student will conduct research in the lab of Dr. Zimeng Wang.
