Air Quality Modeling

A PhD/MS graduate research assistant position is available in the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering at North Carolina State University staring Spring 2017 or Summer/Fall 2017. Research will center on local to global air quality modeling and explore the connections between air pollution, climate change and environmental policy. Potential projects include studying the effect of forest fires on atmospheric pollution, evaluating the impacts of climate policies on air quality and health, and developing numerical and computational methods for environmental models.

Solid Waste Life-Cycle Modeling

The Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering (CCEE) (www.ccee.ncsu.edu/) at North Carolina State University (NCSU) are seeking a PhD student with a background in engineering or a related field interested in systematic analysis of solid waste management and recycling processes and systems analysis to take a lead role in developing state-of-the-art life-cycle models of solid waste management processes and systems as part of their PhD research. Environmental Engineering

A PhD assistant position is available in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Michigan State University.  The successful applicant is expected to conduct research in the area of environmental microbiology and contaminant bioremediation (http://www.egr.msu.edu/~cupplesa/). BS and MS graduates in Environmental Engineering are preferred.

Environmental Nanotechnology

Dr. Nirupam Aich’s Laboratory for Environmental Nanotechnology (LEN) within the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering (CSEE) in the University at Buffalo (UB), The State University of New York (SUNY) has a funded opening for a Ph.D. student with starting date from January 2017. The admitted student’s research will focus on synthesis and application of multifunctional catalytic nanohybrids for water treatment.

Environmental Engineering

Heterogeneous Catalysis and Wastewater Treatment

1-2 PhD teaching assistantship and research assistantship are available in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville starting Fall 2016 or Spring 2017. A BS or MS in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field is desired.
