Environmental Engineering

Performs professional engineering work to protect or improve air, land and water resources in order to provide a clean and healthful environment. The work requires a professional knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques of engineering concerned with facilities and systems for controlling pollution and protecting quality of resources and the environment. Managing reports and compliance with all federal and state regulations for both NY and OH is also a major portion of this position.

Microbial Pathogens in Animal Waste

The University of California Cooperative Extension, a statewide program with local delivery, is seeking a full time Assistant Specialist in Cooperative Extension (50%) and Assistant in the Agricultural Experiment Station (50%) to eliminate or reduce pathogenic micro-organisms in manure associated with concentrated animal feeding operations found in California’s dairy and poultry industries. The position’s home is in the School of Veterinary Medicine; however, a cross-college appointment is possible and encouraged with the College of Engineering.
