Environmental Biotechnology for Nutrient Recovery

The Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering at Marquette University is seeking candidates for a post-doctoral research position in environmental biotechnology.  The position begins in July 2016, with funding for 1.5 years through an award from the National Science Foundation CAREER program.  The researcher’s primary focus will be design of bioengineered systems using phosphate binding proteins to recover phosphorus from water and wastewater systems.  The post-doc will have the opportunity to participate in all facets of the project, including designing and conducting

Research

A postdoctoral researcher position is available in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado, Boulder. The project, which is funded by the US NSF, targets the speciation, transformation and mobilization of organic carbon and nitrogen from soils after wildfires and the impact on disinfection byproduct formation. The project will build upon ~3 years worth of research concerning the mobilization of carbon and nitrogen after wildfires and the resulting changes in DBP formation potential.
