Stormwater treatment

The Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Riverside, is seeking a postdoctoral scholar in the area of stormwater treatment that begins in Fall 2017. The researcher, under co-supervision by Dr. Sharon Walker and Dr. Haizhou Liu at UC Riverside, will perform independent research on the fate and transport properties of emerging environmental contaminants in biofilter and bioretention units that treat and reuse stormwater.

Research Associateship Program

The National Academy of Sciences offers graduate, postdoctoral and senior research awards on behalf of 26 U.S. federal research agencies and affiliated institutions with facilities at over 100 locations throughout the U.S. and abroad.

We are actively seeking highly qualified candidates including recent doctoral recipients and senior researchers. Applications are accepted during 4 annual review cycles (with deadlines of February 1, May 1, August 1, November 1).

Environmental Toxicology

A post-doctoral research position is available in the area of environmental toxicology.  The successful applicant will be engaged in interdisciplinary research exploring environmental contaminant exposure in three-dimensional tissue models in collaboration with Dr, David Kaplan's research group at Tufts University.  Candidates should possess a doctoral degree in environmental engineering, microbiology, analytical chemistry, or a related field, and should have extensive wet laboratory experience.

Post-Doctoral Position in Subsurface Transport and Remediation

RESTORE at Western University is seeking a post-doctoral fellow to support their current research work in the areas of subsurface transport and remediation.  In particular, the post-doctoral fellow is required to support projects being conducted within the Remediation Network (RENEW) program (http://renew.utoronto.ca/). RENEW is a large collaborative program involving leading researchers at four Canadian (Western, Toronto, Waterloo, and Queens) and 11 international universities as well as 8 leading environmental companies.

Environmental Chemistry

A position is available for a Postdoctoral Scientist in the Department of Environmental Sciences. The individual will conduct research on the influence of air during pyrolysis of biomass materials on structural properties of the char, and its implications for retention and reactions of pollutants, according to the objectives of the project 1709532 supported by NSF. The individual is expected to undertake fundamental mechanistic studies and therefore should have a background in chemistry or chemical engineering.

Environmental Biotechnology

One postdoctoral fellow position with a strong focus on environmental engineering is available in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta. The candidate will work with Dr. Mohamed Gamal El-Din on multidisciplinary research projects related to fundamental understanding of biological water treatment processes.
