Water technologies

We seek candidates to apply for a technology transfer and/or applied research position in the competitive call TECNIOSPRING, a COFUND program under the EC VII FP. Candidates must i) hold a doctoral degree plus five years of postdoctoral experience, and ii) have at least one year of experience in applied research and/or technology transfer activities. Experience in team management is also required. The call is open to all nationalities but the researcher must not have resided or carried out her/his main activity (work, studies) in Spain for more than 12 months in the 2 years immediately prior to the deadline for the submissions of applications (expected at the end of April 2013). Experience in water science and technology and/or in one of LEQUIA current research lines is desired.

Environmental Engineering/Genomics/Biotechnology

The research group of Professor Kyle Bibby in the University of Pittsburgh Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (bibbylab.blogspot.com) is searching for a Postdoctoral Scholar in the areas of Environmental Biotechnology, Genomics, and Bioinformatics. The ideal candidate will have had experience with molecular biology techniques and bioinformatics analyses. Initial appointment will be made for one year. Interested candidates should apply by sending a CV to Prof. Kyle Bibby at BibbyKJ@Pitt.edu.

Environmental Chemistry

Michigan State University, Department of Plant, Soil and Microbial Sciences (former Crop and Soil Sciences) invite applications for a postdoctoral research associate position. The research associate will investigate sorption of organic contaminants by soils, sorption mechanisms related to different soil components, and the formation and bioavailability of dioxins in soils. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in environmental chemistry, soil science/chemistry, geochemistry, or a related area.

Magnetic Nanoparticles for Wastewater Treatment and Site Remediation

The research group of Professor Irene M. C. Lo at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (http://www.ust.hk/eng/about/index.htm) would like to invite applications for a Post-doctorial Fellow position in the area of magnetic nanoparticles for wastewater treatment and site remediation. The ideal candidate would have a background in environmental engineering with experimental research experience on nanoparticles transport and contaminant treatment efficiency.
