The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) is seeking a full-time postdoctoral researcher in environmental engineering. The postdoctoral associate will primarily participate in a research effort focused on the development of advanced material-based technologies for water purification and reuse applications. The postdoctoral researcher will have opportunities to engage with industrial partners including A.O. Smith, Pentair, KX Technologies, and Veolia.
The New England Sustainability Consortium (https://www.newenglandsustainabilityconsortium.org) has launched a new stakeholder-engaged, solutions-focused, interdisciplinary research program focused on the future of dams. Our research draws upon world-class faculty expertise at the UNH, UMaine, URI, Keene State, USM and RISD and builds on NEST’s experience in advancing the theory and practice of sustainability science.
A postdoctoral research fellow position in environmental microbiology and biotechnology
The Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering at Marquette University is seeking candidates for a post-doctoral research position in environmental biotechnology. The position begins in July 2016, with funding for 1.5 years through an award from the National Science Foundation CAREER program. The researcher’s primary focus will be design of bioengineered systems using phosphate binding proteins to recover phosphorus from water and wastewater systems. The post-doc will have the opportunity to participate in all facets of the project, including designing and conducting
A postdoctoral researcher position is available in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado, Boulder. The project, which is funded by the US NSF, targets the speciation, transformation and mobilization of organic carbon and nitrogen from soils after wildfires and the impact on disinfection byproduct formation. The project will build upon ~3 years worth of research concerning the mobilization of carbon and nitrogen after wildfires and the resulting changes in DBP formation potential.
