The University of Rhode Island (URI) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to conduct research, teaching, and service in the analysis and solutions to global and local challenges related to water infrastructure and the management of conventional and unconventional water resources. The position is part of a cluster hire initiative to strengthen URI’s focus on Water and Water Resources, which is a collaborative, interdisciplinary research program in hydrology, water quality, environmental geochemistry, environmental engineering, natural resource policy, and Geographic Information Systems. As part of this interdisciplinary cluster hire initiative, the candidate will make significant contributions to our ongoing international education and research efforts that address critical challenges in water resources in the USA and emerging economies and in human sustainability and infrastructure security. Particularly, we are interested in a faculty member with a strong interdisciplinary background who can provide analysis and solutions to global and local challenges related to water infrastructure engineering and planning and the management of conventional and unconventional water resources.
