Two PhD positions in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Ocean Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology
Two research opportunities for PhD in civil and environmental engineering are available. One position is on the study of the interaction between groundwater, sewer, and water streams in urban areas and a second position is on the study of the behavior of nanoparticle-stabilized CO2-foam transport in porous media for contaminated site remediation.
The successful applicants will be joining the group of Dr. Prigiobbe conducting research on transport in porous media and interfacial phenomena closely integrating mathematical modeling, numerical simulations, and experiments.
The positions will be in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Ocean engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology whose research focuses on subsurface flow, water treatment, and soil mechanics. It is located in Hoboken (NJ) overlooking the Manhattan skyline of New York City.
Applicants should have B.S. and M.S. degrees in either Civil or Environmental Engineering or related fields. Experience in modeling of flow in porous media and in channels as well as in laboratory activities is desirable.
Applicants interested in this position can directly contact Dr. Valentina Prigiobbe (email@example.com).
