One or multiple postdoctoral positions are available as part of a nationwide study examining the sustainability of cities, and the fate of emerging contaminants, endocrine disruptors, and consumer product chemicals in the U.S. environment. The successful applicant will analyze environmental and biological samples, coordinate and plan environmental sampling campaigns, maintain sample inventories, interpret measurement results, prepare peer-reviewed publications and assist undergraduate and graduate students in the use of liquid and gas chromatography tandem mass spectrometers (LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS). Applicants must have a Ph.D. in environmental chemistry/engineering or a closely related field, and experience in environmental trace analysis of organic compounds using tandem mass spectrometry. Additional experience in wastewater analysis, GIS, Raman spectroscopy and environmental systems and QSAR modeling is preferred. The main workplace is the Center for Environmental Security at the ASU Biodesign Institute in Tempe, AZ.
