We are seeking a graduate student, preferably a PhD student, for urban stormwater studies, including best management practices (BMPs), life cycle assessment and grey-green infrastructure management for a start date of January 2017, but we will consider students for Summer/Fall 2017. A strong technical background in urban hydrological modeling, water quality, or BMP development is preferred. The research includes development of an integrated, decision support tool for optimization of stormwater green infrastructure placement and life-cycle cost assessment of grey, green, and hybrid stormwater infrastructures. The decision support tool requires integration of various modules and data exchange between modules. Knowledge of a programming language that is generally accessible, including VBA, Python or C++ is required. Experience in development and /or application of optimization techniques is essential.
Applications must include a cover letter, CV, and contact information for three references. Applications are accepted until position is filled. Please submit your materials via email to Dr. Mengistu Geza at mengistu.GezaNisrani@sdsmt.edu.
