The Tufts University, School of Engineering, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering seeks a Post-Doctoral Research Associate to join an established team of researchers studying health effects related to exposure to near-highway air pollution. The Schools of Engineering and Medicine at Tufts along with community partners in Somerville and Chinatown in Boston, recently received a grant from NIEHS to evaluate the cardiovascular health benefits of indoor air treatment to remove multiple air pollutants in housing located near major roadways. The post-doc will be fully supported by this grant and is expected to play a major role in designing and conducting indoor and outdoor air quality experiments, developing models of exposure, and reporting the main findings in journal articles and at research conferences. A collaborative research team will help support the post-doc and provide training and mentorship opportunities.

Applicants should have a PhD and research interests in air quality, air pollution monitoring, exposure assessment and health outcomes. Priority is given to applicants with academic background and/or experience in one or more of the following areas: environmental engineering, environmental science, chemical engineering, public health, epidemiology, environmental exposure assessment. Priority will also be given to applicants who have experience or facility at community engagement.
