The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Colorado State University invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in the area of Environmental Engineering. This position is expected to be filled at the Assistant Professor level, but exceptional candidates at the Associate Professor level will be considered. Applicants should have a background in Environmental Engineering with application to engineered and natural systems. Specific areas include, but are not limited to: energy-water-climate nexus, innovative water/wastewater treatment processes, emerging contaminant treatment, environmental sustainability, and environmental biotechnology. The successful applicant will demonstrate an interest and the ability to collaborate with the extensive water resource and environmental science expertise across CSU.
Description: We are seeking an Environmental Engineer to complement the existing strengths of the Environmental Engineering undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The candidate's focus may be on modeling and/or laboratory and field work. Interest in applied research that leads to innovative solutions to environmental problems is of particular interest. The position will support the teaching and research mission of the Environmental Engineering program through the successful candidate's research program as well as by the development and teaching of courses in Environmental Engineering.
Qualifications: A B.S. degree in engineering is required. A Ph.D. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a closely related discipline is also required and must be completed by the start date. Candidates also must have a demonstrated record of publication in peer-reviewed journals. Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of their alignment with the focus areas given above, their academic credentials, their record of excellence in research, teaching, and scholarly activities, potential for success in developing funded research programs, professional service, communication skills, and their potential to make exceptional contributions in research, teaching, and the engineering profession.
