The Astani Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Southern California invites applicants for a Ph.D. assistantship in environmental engineering, with a particular emphasis on water reuse processes and system-scale analysis. The ideal candidate will have research experience at both process- and system-scale analysis. Applicants should have a BS in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.

The Astani CEE department is home to a rapidly expanding environmental engineering program, with six new faculty hired since 2012, and a recently renovated state-of-the-art water research laboratory. USC is located near downtown Los Angeles, a major metropolis (pop. 4M) with easy access to Southern California’s many beaches, mountains, and deserts, and an agreeable year-round climate.
