Job Description: 

  The research group of Professor Chuanhao Li at Department of Environmental Science and Engineering from Sun Yat-Sen University is seeking highly-qualified candidates for two postdoctoral researcher positions (or senior research scientist position). Candidates should have completed a Ph.D. degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Chemistry, Materials Science or closely related fields. Candidates with experiences in Environmental Nanotechnology is highly desired, but not required. The positions are available immediately and will be open until filled.

  Position 1:  The postdoctoral researcher will be expected to design and conduct laboratory experimental research related to adsorbent nanomaterials for pollutant (organic or heavy metal) removal from water. This project aims at building a photocatalysis/adsorption combined system for water treatment. The applicant with background in adsorption technology or electrochemistry will be preferred.

  Position 2: The postdoctoral researcher will be expected to conduct experiments to build photocatalytic water treatment system combined with simultaneous hydrogen production from water splitting. This research will require the integration of microscopy, spectroscopy and electrochemistry techniques to identify potential mechanisms.

  Appointment will be made initially on a contract with 24 months, renewable subject to mutual agreement. Salary, benefit and allowance are attractive and flexible, which will be commensurate with qualifications and experiences. Being promoted to faculty member is possible if the candidate can meet the certain requirements after 2 years.

The group leader, Prof. Chuanhao Li, got his BS, MS in Applied chemistry, and PhD in Environmental Chemistry from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He did his postdoc study under the guidance of Prof. Jae-Hong Kim at Yale University. Prof. Li has authored 39 scientific papers (including JACS, Energy. Environ. Sci., ES&T, Appl. Cataly. B, etc) with the total citation over 1200 times. His main research interest is nanotechnology-enabled water treatment process, especially solar water treatment technology.
