In consultation with industry, the McMaster University Faculty of Engineering and the Mohawk College School of Engineering Technology developed the Bachelor of Technology Partnership, a unique concept for, and a fresh approach to, the shared delivery of education in engineering, technology and management in Ontario. As the new Chair of the Civil Engineering Infrastructure Technology Program, you will have ownership and overall responsibility for the successful delivery – and future growth – of the program including program development and expansion, curriculum development and staffing, student recruitment and advisement, teaching, and quality management. This is an exciting opportunity to lead, with a high degree of autonomy, the ongoing development and expansion of a successful program at the forefront of engineering and management studies and to direct a program with a strong emphasis on learning and pedagogy. You will have the opportunity to teach in a collegial, highly-collaborative environment in which you will ensure currency of program objectives and relevancy of curriculum by continually bridging academia and industry. Key Qualifications - Minimum Master’s degree in Civil Engineering and eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario - Experience teaching at the university level with a strong commitment to and demonstrated ability in classroom instruction - Program management experience, including curriculum development, staffing and student recruitment. - Exceptional communication skills; self-motivated and solutions-oriented; personable and friendly - Industry experience an asset as is knowledge of infrastructure design, inspection, repair and maintenance; an interest in sustainability is desired This is a contractually-limited appointment (up to three years, with opportunity for renewal) at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
