Job Description: 

A Ph.D. student position is available at the University of Calgary. The successful applicant will be expected to conduct research in one of the following areas: 1) Development of method/technology/instrument to monitor airborne pollutants and investigate their pollution characteristics, transportation, and impact on ambient air quality; 2) Carbonaceous aerosols, in particular black carbon (field sampling, instrumental analysis, source apportionment, radiative forcing effects); 3) Modeling the environmental and climate impact of anthropogenic air pollutants. The ideal candidate should hold a MS degree in Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, Environmental Engineering, or other suitable fields; and also have experience on aerosol sampling and chemical analysis, optical properties of aerosols, source apportionment techniques, optical remote sensing techniques, air quality modeling, or climate modeling.
