The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno, seeks candidates for a Ph.D. Research Assistant for a project focused on membrane-based water treatment processes at solar power facilities. The project is NSF funded and begins July 2014. The ideal candidate will possess an M.S. in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, and prior experience in membrane processes and analytical chemistry is highly desirable. Candidates holding a B.S. or M.S. in related fields will also be considered.

The selected graduate student candidate will receive a competitive research stipend, tuition support, and health insurance benefits.  Interested applicants are requested to provide a 1-2 page cover letter describing their research experience relevant to this position, motivations and career objectives, a complete curriculum vitae, and the names of three references in a single .pdf file to Dr. Sage Hiibel (shiibel@unr.edu).  Applications for graduate school at UNR are due January 15 for full consideration within the Environmental Engineering Department, although later applications may be considered for excellent candidates.   Top student candidates will be invited to visit the campus during the spring recruiting event which will be held February 28-March 1, 2014.
