| DESCRIPTION: | Professor/Associate Professor in Continuum Mechanics Department of Engineering Science Faculty of Engineering Auckland, New Zealand Vacancy Number: 11347 This newly created Professor/Associate Professor position presents an exciting opportunity to join a multi-isciplinary department consisting of eminent researchers and award winning teachers with active and internationally recognised Engineering Science and Biomedical Engineering programmes. We are seeking to appoint a Professor or Associate Professor who has a proven record of research and teaching excellence in the broad area of continuum mechanics. This person must have an excellent academic record as evidenced by an outstanding publication record and successes in attracting competitive grants. It is also expected that the candidates will have well-developed links with industry, extensive experience in supervision of postgraduate students and in high quality teaching at undergraduate/postgraduate levels. It is also expected that the successful applicant will provide a leadership role with a clear vision for the future of the Engineering Science Department, and will add to existing research interactions.
