| DESCRIPTION: | CLINICAL (NON-TENURED) FACULTY POSITION CIVIL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute invites applications for clinical teaching positions in Environmental Engineering starting August 31, 2009. It is anticipated that the position will be filled at the Assistant Professor rank, but outstanding candidates at all ranks will be considered. The successful candidate must hold a doctoral degree in an appropriate field and must demonstrate potential for high-quality teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level. Consistent with the Rensselaer Plan and the School of Engineering Strategic Plan, which have made the nexus of Energy and the Environment a priority, we are interested in an individual who is committed to addressing the challenges of air quality, water quality, and sustainability in the 21st century. The successful candidate will be expected to teach four to six courses per year in support of our ABET- accredited undergraduate curriculum and our graduate program. This is a full time 9-month academic year appointment and has potential for renewal. Rensselaer is a private, research-oriented university in Troy, New York. The School of Engineering (http://www.eng.rpi.edu/) has approximately 150 faculty and 2600 undergraduates. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (http://www.cee.rpi.edu/) has 16 faculty, and approximately 150 undergraduate, and 60 MS/Ph.D. students.
