| DESCRIPTION: | Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) of Industrial Ecology: Air Quality Control The Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (www.baug.ethz.ch) invites applications for an Assistant Professorship in Industrial Ecology. The professor is ex pected to establish a strong research program in the area of air quality control measures, emission modeling, and emission-free production techniques. Emphasis should be laid on the characterization of particle emissions and their abatement with special focus on nanoparticles. Furthermore, he or she will lead a research group at Empa (www.empa.ch). Candidates hold a PhD degree in environmental engineering or related fields (chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics) and have postdoctoral experience in particle and air quality research. They can motivate young students and are able to build up their own research group. They have a record of attracting external funds. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate level courses (German or English) and graduate level courses (English). This assistant professorship has been established to promote the careers of younger scien tists. The initial appointment is for four years with the possibility of renewal for an additional two-year period and promotion to a permanent position.
