ENVIRONMENTAL NANO-TECHNOLOGY POST DOCTORAL POSITION: The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of South Carolina invite applicants for a post-doctoral position starting January, 2010 in the area of nano-processing engineering. The 12 month (with the possibility of renewal on an annual basis for up to three years) position is available under the direct supervision of Dr. Yeomin Yoon. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Persons interested in this position should have a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field with a strong background and interest in using water treatment (membrane preferred) and experimental work in nano-processing engineering coupled with the use of nanomaterials. Applicants must also possess strong analytical and communication (written and oral) skills and be able to conduct independent/scientific research work. Experience with analytical instruments including GC, GC/MS, LC/MS, DLSA, QCMD and IC/HPLC is highly desirable. The candidate will also assist in the training of graduate student. The selected candidate will focus on projects related to the following areas: determining transport and fate of nano-materials through membrane and investigating the role of engineered nano-materials in desalination, water treatment, and wastewater reclamation. The position is available on January, 2010.
