Post Doctoral position in Organic Biogeochemistry The Organic Geochemistry group at the Southeast Environmental Research Center and the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Florida International University in Miami, Florida, invites applications for a two year post doctoral research associate in support of a DOI-NPS funded research project on organic matter dynamics in the Florida Everglades. The project is related to our on–going Florida Coastal Everglades Long Term Ecological Research program (http://fcelter.fiu.edu/), and its main objective is to characterize DOM reactivity pools and establish structure-activity relationships with the specific emphasis on identifying optical proxies for both bio- and photo-reactivity. Analytical work will include the analysis of hydrolysable amino acids, lignin phenols and optical properties (EEM-PARAFAC). Experience in at least some of these techniques is desirable.
