Professor Boris Lau’s research program is currently looking for outstanding MS or PhD students to work on projects studying the formation, stability, and mobility of environmental nanoparticles. The overarching theme is to improve our understanding of nanoparticle behaviors in natural and engineered aquatic systems. This is an excellent opportunity for students who are interested to become experts in the emerging field of environmental nanoscience. Baylor University provides access and training to state-of-the art research facilities (ex: TEM, SEM, confocal microscopy, ICP-MS, and flow cytometry) situated in the newly opened $103 million Baylor Sciences Building. The students will be part of a multidisciplinary team of environmental engineers, ecologists, geoscientists, toxicologists and microbiologists from a newly formed Institute of Ecology, Earth, and Environmental Sciences. Successful applicants must possess a strong academic record and excellent English communication skills. Highly motivated candidates with a BS or MS degree in relevant science and/or engineering disciplines will be considered. Qualified students will be funded through teaching and/or research assistantships that provides tuition remission, generous stipend, health benefits, and travel support to attend professional meetings.
