DESCRIPTION:

The Environmental Chemistry and Engineering Research Group at the University of Notre Dame (www.nd.edu/~cna) is considering applications for PhD studies with full financial support. The candidate should be highly motivated with good academic standing. The research focus of our group is to advance the molecular knowledge of environmental reactions and interactions using state-of-the-art experimental techniques. Potential dissertation topics include (1) understanding the transport and transformation of nanomaterials in the environment, (2) developing geo-engineering solutions for climate change and evaluating their environmental impacts, and (3) developing microscopic techniques to quantify environmental reactions and interactions on the molecular level.
