22 Doctoral Fellowships at University of South Florida

The University of South Florida (Tampa) Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has been provided graduate appointments for 22 new PhD candidates next year.  This is in addition to regular research and teaching appointments.  We are seeking doctoral applicants in environmental engineering, sustainability, transportation planning, and water resources. The appointments include a stipend, health insurance, and tuition waiver.  The sponsorship is renewable annually and is contingent upon satisfactory progress toward degree objectives.

Further information can be found at:  http://www2.eng.usf.edu/phd2010/

These positions are in addition to a recent grant to provide fellowships for doctoral students at the water/energy/materials/human nexus: http://www2.eng.usf.edu/gaann/

The environmental engineering program at USF has 8 engineering faculty members and over 100 graduate students.  USF is recognized by Florida as one of its top three research universities. It is listed as the nation's 63rd public research university and is one of 39 community-engaged, four-year public universities as designated by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.  USF was awarded more than $380.4 million in research contracts and grants in fiscal year 2007/2009. The 2009 U.S. News & World Report annual college rankings placed the University of South Florida as the one of the nation’s top 20 "up and coming universities".
