DESCRIPTION:

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Washington is in an ambitious multi-year period of growth and renewal. As part of this initiative, applications are being solicited for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in sustainable infrastructure systems. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, renewable energy, environmental/sustainability assessment of or performance metrics for infrastructure systems, life-cycle assessment, sustainable applications of existing or new materials, alternative construction materials, information technology related to infrastructure monitoring, management, and performance, environmental analysis of civil infrastructure systems, design for environment, design for deconstruction, and other applications applied to sustainability. Applications to, involvement in or potential collaborations with transportation and construction areas are of particular interest. Candidates at the assistant and associate professor ranks will be considered. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an internationally recognized research program and to participate in the teaching and service missions of the department. Candidates capable of developing collaborative relationships in research and teaching are of particular interest. A PhD in civil engineering or related discipline is required.
