FACULTY POSITION IN ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING

SAN DIEGO STATE UNIVERSITY

 

The Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at San Diego State University invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track faculty position with expertise in the areas of Environmental Engineering.  The position is funded by the W. Leonhard Endowment and will be at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.

The candidate should have a B.S. degree in Engineering and must possess Ph.D. degree in Environmental Engineering or a closely related field at the time of appointment.  The candidate will be expected to develop and sustain an externally funded active research program, to collaborate with existing faculty in multidisciplinary research projects, and demonstrate strong commitment to excellence as a teacher-scholar in a diverse student environment.  Professional registration or the ability to become registered is preferred.  Candidates with a record of funding and prior faculty appointment will be given priority. 

The Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering has faculty members with specialties in construction, environmental, geotechnical, structures, transportation, and water resources areas. The department offers B.S., M.S. degrees, and a joint Ph.D. degree with the University of California at San Diego.  The department has a successful research record in the areas of water and wastewater treatment technologies, solid and hazardous waste management, soil-water interactions, environmental hydrology/hydraulics and GIS applications.
