| DESCRIPTION: | PROFESSORSHIP IN THE INDUSTRIAL WATER CYCLE The Department of Water Management of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences of Delft University of Technology (DUT) announces the following part-time (0,2 fte) vacant professorship in the industrial water cycle. The Department has responsibility for the following disciplines: Hydrology, Water resources management, Drinking water engineering, Sewerage and Wastewater treatment and has organized its activities into two sections, i.e Water resources engineering and Sanitary Engineering. Teaching is organized as part of DUT’s MSc-program in Civil Engineering, where the department offers the MSc specialization in Water Management. The Department is also offering a PhD program in this area. The Chair in the Industrial Water Cycle is a new and specialized chair, which has been defined in view of the increasing need for research and teaching in this field. The chair will be sponsored by the industry for a minimum period of 5 years. The chair will focus on water use in industrial processes, sustainability and reuse and process integration and product development. The successful applicant must be able to document his/her research qualifications in important fields within the discipline. Serious consideration will be given to the candidate’s ability to supervise and initiate research and development work. The successful candidate must be recognized as a leading expert in the field of the industrial water cycle and have or develop an excellent relationship with the (Dutch) industry. Also consideration will be given to the candidate’s pedagogic skills. The candidate should be able to motivate and stimulate MSc and PhD-students and convey the results of research at congresses in a convincing way. The successful candidate should be the natural leader of the academic group, have a broad mind and have people and management skills. It is assumed that newly-employed staff in academic positions who do not already speak Dutch will obtain within three years knowledge of Dutch.
