A postdoc position is available at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) to work on a research project related to the application of aerobic granular sludge (AGS) process for wastewater treatment with resource recovery.
Requirements
The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree in environmental engineering, environmental microbiology, or related fields. The candidate is expected to have a strong experience in operating lab- and pilot-scale aerobic granular sludge bioreactors. The candidate is also expected to have a strong experience in enriching for polyphosphate accumulating organisms (PAOs) and understating their ecophysiology. The use of general molecular biological tools (e.g., PCR, qPCR, and FISH) and bioinformatics analysis of meta-omic (metagenomics and metatranscriptomic) data is highly encouraged. Candidates must possess strong analytical and communication (written and oral English) skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment. In addition, the candidate will supervise graduate students, prepare manuscripts, and present results at national and international conferences.

Compensation is highly competitive globally. The position is available immediately, and will be renewable on an annual basis, and is anticipated for two years.
