Postdoctoral Fellow in nano-adhesion and nano-toxicity Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering University of Alberta A postdoctoral research position is available to conduct research related to the fate and transport of nanoparticles and their potential adverse impact to the environment. Applicants should hold a PhD, have a background in molecular scale colloidal interaction modeling (nano-adhesion) and/or nanomaterial toxicity to microorganisms. A strong track record of refereed journal publications is desired. Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills are required. The successful candidate will work in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering with Dr. Yang Liu and Dr. Ania Ulrich. The candidate will be expected to assist in the training and mentoring of graduate students and writing research proposals. Teaching experience can be arranged if desired. The appointment will begin in May, 2010 or as soon as the position is filled, for an initial appointment of one year, but renewal upon satisfactory performance. A competitive stipend will be awarded commensurate with experience.
