Postdoctoral Researcher Position in Environmental Engineering/Microbiology: University of Hawaii at Manoa, Honolulu, HI 96822 The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Hawaii at Manoa is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to start immediately. The incumbent will study the fate and transport of fecal indicators and pathogens in recreational beach water and sand. Knowledge and hands-on experiences in one of the following areas are required: water biological quality, environmental microbiology, and molecular biology techniques (including qPCR, PCR cloning, microbial community analysis, etc.). The incumbent should possess excellent communication skills, and is expected to conduct both field investigation and laboratory experiments. The position is full time with an annual stipend of $42,000. The initial appointment is for 1-year; continuation beyond 1 year will be based on performance and funding availability. The position will remain open until filled.
