Membrane Bioreactor Processes for Decentralized Water Reclamation

Membrane Bioreactor Processes for Decentralized Water Reclamation

RANK: Postdoctoral Research Associate
INSTITUTION: Colorado School of Mines - Advanced Water Technology Center (AQWATEC)
DESCRIPTION:

A postdoctoral research position is available to conduct research in the field of membrane bioreactor (MBR) processes for decentralized water reclamation. This research project will utilize existing laboratory-scale and a demonstration-scale (7,000 gpd) MBRs and focus on the identification of the most cost-effective and energy-efficient mode of operation leading to onsite water reclamation.
We are looking for a creative postdoctoral researcher with a doctoral degree in chemical or environmental engineering with background in physical/chemical processes and wastewater treatment. Experience with MBR processes is especially desired. Duties include, but are not limited to, system operation and optimization, research supervision, student advising, and research development. The candidate must have a good command of oral and written English and demonstrated experience conducting scientific research. This postdoctoral position is available immediately, will be renewable on an annual basis, and is anticipated for at least two years. Preference will be given to recent PhD graduates who are currently in the US and have a record of quality publication. Teaching duties are not included but possible if desired. Compensation will be commensurate with qualification and experience. Health benefits will also be provided. The position is open until it is filled. Interested candidate can apply by sending a cover letter, CV with a complete list of publications, and contact information for three references to Prof. Dr. Tzahi Cath (tcath@mines.edu) or Prof. Dr. Jörg Drewes (jdrewes@mines.edu).

The Advanced Water Technology Center (AQWATEC) at the Colorado School of Mines is a leading research center for water reclamation and reuse providing state-of-the-art research facilities. The postdoctoral researcher will work closely with other faculty in AQWATEC and the Environmental Science and Engineering Division at CSM. CSM is an EEO/AA employer and is committed to enhancing the diversity of its campus community. Women, minorities, veterans, and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Employment with CSM is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of a background investigation.
