| DESCRIPTION: | Post Doc Position: Stormwater Management and Modeling The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks a highly qualified Postdoctoral Researcher to conduct research related to stormwater management and evaluation of best management practices. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering or a closely related discipline with expertise in stormwater and watershed modeling (e.g. SWAT, SWMM). A strong background in GIS, remote sensing, computational/statistical modeling, and decision making/support systems is preferred. Qualified candidates should have an established track record of refereed journal publications and the ability to perform both collaborative and independent research. Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills are required. The successful candidate will join ongoing research projects on the dynamic modeling of stormwater runoff and evaluation of best management practices in Massachusetts watersheds. The appointment will begin on or before September 2010 for a period of one year. The position is expected to be extended contingent on funding availability and performance.
