| DESCRIPTION: | The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks a highly qualified Postdoctoral Researcher. The successful candidate will join a new project funded by the Water Research Foundation to develop Endocrine Disruptors (EDC) / Pharmaceuticals and Personal Care Products (PPCP) monitoring strategies for drinking water utilities. The candidate will join an established research team leading an interdisciplinary effort in water quality monitoring and watershed management. The candidate will be responsible for spatial analysis of EDCs/PPCPs sources and susceptibility of the selected watersheds. The candidate will actively participate in the training and mentoring of graduate students and in writing refereed journal publications and research proposals. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering/Science, Geography or closely related disciplines with a strong background in spatial analysis, spatial statistics, GIS, and watershed modeling. Experience in remote sensing and computational/statistical modeling is desired. Qualified candidates should have the ability to perform both collaborative and independent research. Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills are required. A review of applicants will begin immediately.
