Environmental Analytical Chemistry

The Water and Environmental Technology (WET) Center (funded by National Science Foundation and Industry) at Temple University invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Research Associate position. The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to conduct research and oversee sponsored research projects related to development of analytical methods for pharmaceutical and personal care products in various media. The successful candidate will develop new analytical methods or improve the existing methods for these chemicals. The WET Center has state of the art analytical laboratory facility with new equipments such as GC/MS/MS, LC/MS/MS etc. Applicants with prior working experience in analytical chemistry will be given preference. Evidence of using GC/MS, GC/MS/MS, UPLC/MS/MS, and UPLC/ Q-ToF is highly desirable. The successful candidate will work closely with other postdoctoral researchers, and students for the identification of intermediates products / reaction products / metabolites.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field. Successful candidate will also be required to participate in other ongoing projects in PI’s laboratories. The candidate will supervise graduate students, and prepare project reports and journal manuscripts. Applicants must possess strong communication (written and oral) skills and be able to conduct research independently.

The review of application will start immediately. The appointment will be for 12 months with the potential of extension depending on performance and availability of funds. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
