The Environmental Engineering group within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of South Carolina (Columbia, SC) currently has Ph.D. level Research Assistantships available. Full tuition and fees remission, along with a monthly stipend, is available. The Environmental Engineering group has state-of-the-art laboratory (e.g., GC/MS, DLS, HPLC) and computing facilities (e.g., small computer clusters (16-core and GPU units) as well as access to College computing facilities). Positions are available in research areas including the hydrothermal carbonization of waste materials and process and ab initio molecular modeling. At a minimum, applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering, or a closely related discipline. Preference will be given to highly motivated candidates with prior research experience and MS degrees.
