Air Toxics

CSU Civil and Environmental Engineering is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to work in Fort Collins, Colorado as part of a multidisciplinary team of engineers, physical and social scientists, and public-health practitioners to assess air pollution exposures across indoor and outdoor environments (with a primary focus on exposure to volatile organic compounds). The work requires knowledge of analytic chemistry and experience with thermal-desorption gas-chromatography mass spectrometry systems.

Analytical Chemistry

One postdoctoral fellow position in environmental analytical chemistry is available in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Gamal El-Din. The selected applicant will work on multidisciplinary research projects related to analytical chemistry for applications in environmental sciences and wastewater treatment, including oil & gas process water and municipal wastewater. The eligible applicant should have completed the Ph.D.

Environmental Chemistry

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at University of Nevada (Reno) is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher to work with Dr. Yu Yang ( The project will investigate the chemical nature of organic carbon associating with iron in soil environment applying state-of-the-art mass spectrometry. Potential results will shed light on carbon cycling and climate change.

Environmental Engineering/Microbiology

A postdoctoral research fellow position is available in Dr. Young Seo’s laboratory in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of Toledo. The selected candidate will work on a funded research project to develop methods for the early detection and mitigation of harmful cyanobacterial blooms.  The candidate will work closely with other investigators and collaborators for the research project.
