An Opening for a Post Doc in Environmental Engineering – Plastic Pollution

Start date: May 15th, 2022

Duration: 1 year, but might be extended for one more year based on performance and funding

The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Memphis has an opening for a postdoctoral position focusing on plastic pollution within the environment. Candidates should have a Ph.D. (or have successfully defended their dissertation prior to the start date) with a background in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Sciences or Chemistry. Furthermore, the qualified candidate is expected to have knowledge about water chemistry, surface analysis, and polymer science with strong written and spoken English skills.

The successful candidate will (1) develop and conduct the experimental research works and data analysis, (2) mentor the graduate and undergraduate students, and (3) contribute to the educational activities and writing of peer-reviewed papers and research proposals.
