Funded Ph.D. positions available in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Michigan State University

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Michigan State University is seeking two PhDs students to work on a hydrological, agricultural, and ecological modeling at global and regional scales. The student will receive competitive stipend, tuition support, and health benefits. The projects involve process-based hydrological modeling using climate model data and close interactions with regional stakeholders.

Required qualifications:

undergraduate in Civil and Environmental Engineering or a closely related (preferably Engineering) field; masters in hydrology, water resources, atmospheric science, Earth and environmental science, or a related field; and strong interest and some background in mathematical/computer modeling; and GRE (for all) and TOEFL/IELTS (for international students).

Preferred qualifications:

This Strong background in hydrology and computational modeling;
prior experience with Python, Fortran or similar programming languages; and
Skills to handle large data
