The Niu Lab (Environmental Chemistry of Emerging Contaminants) at the University of Cincinnati is interested in hiring a postdoc research associate in the area of aquatic chemistry in general. We specifically look for expertise and experiences in emerging contaminants, isolation and characterization of organic matter, transformation processes, and photochemistry. Additionally, experiences with microplastics chemistry are a plus as well. This is an initially one year position, starting dates are flexible, likely in the summer or fall semester. General requirement:
• A PhD degree (or by the time of employment) in environmental sciences, chemistry, environmental engineering, or a related field.
• Proven expertise in the research areas mentioned above.
• A track record of publishing in leading peer-reviewed journals.
• Excellent teamwork, communication (written and oral in English), and interpersonal skills.
• Work closely and collaboratively with other scientists to design, implement, analyze, and summarize innovative research.
• Contribute to mentorship of graduate and undergraduate students
