The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral fellow to work under the guidance of Dr. Vikram Kapoor (http://engineering.utsa.edu/vkapoor/) on projects related to stormwater management, microbial source tracking and wastewater epidemiology. The molecular biological tools most relevant to this project are quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR), droplet digital PCR (ddPCR), transcriptomics, metagenomics, as well as multi-omic sequencing of the microbial communities. Some experience with analytical techniques such as GC-MS, TOC, ICP-OES will be desirable. During their tenure, the postdoc will be expected to write and submit manuscripts in a timely fashion for peer-reviewed publication, train and mentor graduate students on molecular techniques, and assist with proposal writing. Project funding is available for 1 year with desired start date of September 1, 2021.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or a related field.
