Funded PhD Position in Environmental Engineering at South Dakota State University
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at South Dakota State University is seeking one PhD student in environmental engineering to begin in Fall 2023 or Spring 2024. The successful candidate will join the research group of Dr. Guanghui Hua (https://www.sdstate.edu/directory/guanghui-hua) to work on the formation and control of disinfection byproducts (DBPs) in drinking water. The PhD research assistant will have the opportunity to design and conduct laboratory experiments to investigate regulated and unknown DBPs in various water treatment processes using gas chromatography, ion chromatography and total organic halogen analyzer.
The successful candidate must have a master’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a closely related field. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for admission. International applicants are required to submit English test scores. A minimum TOEFL score of 71, TOEFL Essentials score of 7.5, IELTS score of 6 or Duolingo score of 100 is required for admission. GRE can be waived.
