The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Waterloo is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate with a strong background in aquatic chemistry to contribute to a project that investigates passive sampling of petroleum hydrocarbons and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in marine environments. The research will initially involve conducting mesocosm experiments to develop and test passive samplers. Subsequent work will involve conducting controlled oil spill experiments to further test and validate passive sampler performance.
We expect the duration of this appointment to be 2 years, with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2025. Experience with analytical instrumentations, such as LC/MS/MS and GC and other trace contaminants, is highly preferred.
