We have a postdoctoral research position available in the Department of Radiochemistry and Environmental Chemistry, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (Poland). The postdoctoral researcher will work on biochar modifications and composting of sewage sludge with modified biochar. Chemical and ecotoxicological aspects will be mainly investigated.
Applicants should be enthusiastic and motivated, should have a Ph.D. in environmental engineering, environmental chemistry or/and ecotoxicology, and should have strong verbal and written communication skills (English or Polish). Candidates will also supervise graduate and undergraduate students in the group. Experience with laboratory research, biochar modification and environmental analytical chemistry, and ecotoxicology or microbiology are strongly preferred. As appropriate for the position, applicants should have prior experience working with GC/MS, HPLC, ion chromatography, ICP-OES, etc. People who work in the area of new materials development (other than biochars) are asked to not apply.
The initial appointment will be for one year (with the possibility to extend for 2 more), with an immediate start date. The position will remain open until filled.
